Dreams are emotion, baby
You know you've got to try

Did you ever wonder if babies dream? I've always assumed so. Not that the Kid is a baby anymore, but good lord has he been dreaming up a storm. I know this because he wakes up screaming random shit at 2:30am, which is why I feel like crap every morning. LACK.OF.SLEEP.

Things he has yelled out to make me come a running:
(Note: he starts off soft...then pitches up into a scream by the end of the sentence.)

1. Mommy! Where is your car...WHERE IS YOUR CAR??
2. Mommy! Cupcakes. I...want.........CUPCAKES!!
3. Mommy! Don't..........MAKE ME EAT BEANS!!

Jesus Christ! He's crazy, right? After yelling these things he falls asleep straight away. WTF?

I'm sure you've noticed he begins every sentence with the word, "MOMMY." He does this in everyday life too, not just dream life. I don't know why he does this - yes to get my attention, but maybe it's just how he talks. Like a programmed robot or something.

I've actually been training him on that second statement. I've been calling him at daycare and having him repeat, "I want cupcakes. I want cupcakes."

And the way he calls you Mommy is sooo cute! I'm sure it just melts your heart! (A gazillion times a day...)

I am all too familiar with the "Mommy Mommy!" demands. I could be upstairs in the bathroom, the kids downstairs sitting next to my husband, and they will come upstairs to ask me for a peanut butter sandwich.

you should train him to say "Dude where's my car?" instead, then at least you'll get a good laugh out of it when you wake up.

I enjoy the 'mommy, mommy' thing, esp when the 3 year old is clinging to my leg with all his might and I'm trying to make dinner. Then all I can think is 'freakin' daddy come get your son'. Oh, no wait, I say that out loud.

OMG!! It must totally be an age-related phase because Joy is doing the same thing!!! Except hers is more like her desperately calling me and when I come running, she's rubbing her eyes and says, "Umm, nevermind," then goes back to sleep.

...except that one time when she asked me if her tumbling teacher was stuck in traffic, which he was once.

Myra's comment cracks me up. :)

I shout out that I want cupcakes in the middle of the night too. Unfortunately, nothing ever happens.
