Steppin' up
The Kid wanted waffles for dinner. The Kid gets waffles for dinner.
I looked up longingly at the waffle maker, realizing I'd never be able to reach it by myself. Ah, the sad existence of a short person. Do you have to cut 6" off your new jeans? When you carry shopping bags do they drag on the ground? When you check in to a hotel do you have to stand on your tippy toes to see the concierge over the counter? I'm guessing no. This is my life. ~sigh~ This is what I contemplate as I sadly go and get the stepstool and reach for the waffle maker.

I am looking for new blogs, most of the ones I used to read either stopped being or...I just don't. I'd like to, it just takes a certain something to capture my attention *daily*, I guess.
So if you have a blog, let me know, and give me your recommendations too.

Ah well, no I can't relate to the shortness, as I have the opposite problem of being nearly six feet tall. Why don't you start sending me the six-inch scraps of your jeans, and I'll sew them onto my jeans that aren't quite ever long enough? It'll be like recycling. And if we're ever around each other, I can serve as your personal reacher. Deal?
Um, okay...all of that shortness totally applies to me too. I was too lazy to get the stepstool out last night and stood on a wiggly, wheeled office chair to get some craft supplies out of a high cabinet. Not smart.
Oh, I love your blog and well...hmmm...not sure I have any strong recommendations at the moment. I will try to make mine less boring.
Couldn't you make my nephew some kind of waffles that are more manly than a kitty and a bunny?
That Kitty will rip your face off! Grr!
Stupid question: How'd your waffle maker end up out of reach? But that's what I like about blogs, they're right at my fingertips--and I'm only 5' tall.
Yep, I'm vertically challenged too. At 5 ft. short, you should see me trying to grab stuff at the store that they insist on hanging about 10 ft off the ground! Idiots! I'm sure that it's a spectator sport. They sit up in the security room laughing at me!
This one is interesting....she is american living in Praque.

(Coming out of the internet shadows to delurk)
I can pseudo-relate to the short factor. Both my mother and grandmother are less than five feet tall and I was fortunate enough to get my father's height. I was the one called upon to reach, lift, or put away items that go on the upper shelves.
But, even at 5'6", I find myself still having to have my pants hemmed.
P.S. Love the blog, I usually have to stifle my laughter if I read you at work.
I'm 5'9" and would love to be a few inches shorter. Get a step-stool. :P
I hear ya, girl! I am under 5 ft tall. The step stool is my best friend, but sometimes I am too lazy and that's when I get hit in the head.
I have so much trouble finding pants/jeans! They always have to be hemmed and have the waist taken in.
I'll take this moment to pimp a friend's site:

i love 'em all.
You're talking to the Queen of Shortness! I'm only 4'9" here! It's HARD to find pants or jeans that fit good in the waist and butt, but you still have to hem! :/
As far as my fave blog... you're it! The first place I come to when I log on! :P
I'm 5'4" and I've always felt short, compared to other people, but I can see over the desk at a hotel! ;)
I love the gosspi blogs, like dlisted and perez...and I ahve a LOOOOONG list that I have to read everyday...yours being one of them!!
These days I paruse various myspace blogs in my minimal blog viewing time. There are some pretty gifted writers around.
Hahhaha. You must be as short as me. I'm too braindead to give you blog recommendations ... there are links on the site if you really care, though.
i hear you on being short!
i like your blog and other crafty blogs - i haven't stumbled new ones yet.
I read SO MANY BLOGS. It is a sickness.
Lately I've been using the Share feature on Google Reader. So you can see individual posts I liked: http://www.google.com/reader/shared/02985231790044358171
Much better than a blogroll.
I'm 5'1". I feel your pain.
I'd give you bloggy recommendations but you already read most of the ones I do (ljc, jesser, nannette, jodi, leslie). Sorry.
I did want to let you know that I tried your layered jello recipe two days ago. THANK YOU!

Your child's meals are always so presentable and yummy looking - good that you have pics to show him when he's older - he'll be wondering why he never ate them! :)
