Look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities, forget about your worries and your strife

I noticed this in my purse today and it cracked me up:

It made me realize that there are some things that we just can't live without. In the Kid's case it's his monkeys.

What I mean is, I use an Xacto knife every night, without fail. I must have an Erasure cd in the car cd changer. I use Method wipes, all day everyday. There are two juice boxes and a Benadryl spoon, in my immediate area, at all times.

I'm wondering what everyone else's "necessities" are. I'm not talking purse contents here, that's been done. What do you tote around or use daily that is out of the ordinary?

I don't smoke - but I ALWAYS carry matches, cause you never know when you need to burn something!

I also carry not one but two pocket knives and a leatherman tool.

I also always have ibruprophen and extra-strength tylenol with in reach - no matter where I am.

panties, jellybrans, polly pockets.

Can you tell I'm a mom or what?

Lint brush for the pet fur that gets everywhere and nail clippers. Not that weird, I guess.

An hexagon key set. Really. I put it in my purse one day I needed them (long story), and now I just can't take it out. Even when I change purse I always take them with me.

Wow! Catta! Great minds! I carry a leatherman, 'cause you never know when you might need to go all MacGyver on something, I also carry a lighter, and ibuprophen. And I carry crochet hooks...never know when you might have to crochet yourself out of a sticky situation :)

Nothing too odd, I always have a camera, and a book, I hate to be some where without something to read. I don't do well with downtime.

One odd thing though, for some reason, our dogs frequently stick one of their toys in my purse, especially their fuzzy cupcake squeaky toy. I think they are worried I won't have something to play with when I leave the house.

I bring knitting with me everywhere. I really hate not having anything to do. (And hey - isn't it the BEAR necessities?)

I don't think mine are out of the ordinary but I tend to always have a journal, a lip balm, a small bottle of hand sanitizer and my iPod.

I've been carrying around my wallet sized birth certificate. You never know when I might have to prove my legality or risk being deported.

. . . lip gloss and lotion. I'd like to be nice and moiturized if I do end up in the back of some border truck.

fine paint brushes, dvds, reciepts, about 3 or 4 different lip balms...calculator, teeny fake leatherman...pretty simple, but I have no small children.

A cute spiral notebook from Hot Chocolate (Long's/Walgreen's) with a little pocket to hold coupons and giftcards and an attached elastic band to keep it all together. I'm a list maker and need to always have a place to jot down the random thoughts that pop up throughout the day.
