Cupcakes or cursing.

My birthday is next week. Like every year I look forward to it with more joy than I can ever tell you. I am the only one, as no one else gives a crap. (Can I at least get a card from my kids, come on!?) To celebrate, as I do every year, I am having a giveaway - yay, free stuff for YOU! The prize? Well that depends...

When I laid out my inventory recently I realized that my cards are mostly sweets or swearing. Such is my life. So it's your choice -

package A
1 individual cup-a-cake holder, cupcake sprinkles, cupcake liners, 'cupcake crumbs' cards, cupcake tags

package B:
your very own sh*tlist, 'curse-ive' cards, pack of buttons

I am taking the next few days off to go on a baking marathon for the shower. From now until Sunday leave a comment. Tell me which package you'd choose, tell me who you are, why you come here, why everything tastes better with bacon, I don't know, whatever you want. I'm always astounded that people take the time to come by and read everyday. Thank you so much, your fake internet friendship really means a lot to me. Well, not you silent-lurker-hater, but the rest of you, yeah.

So delurk, it's my one birthday wish, and you get a prize for it! Here's a secret, most likely you'll receive both package A and package B. Unless you are super offended by cupcakes, then, you know, screw it.

Cupcakes and cursing. Two of the best stress relievers ever.

As much as I like the swearing, I'd have to choose the cupcake package because there's french. Love french. And cupcakes. So those two loves win over my love of swearing.

I'm not really delurking because I've commented before, but hi! Happy birthday next week!

Happy Birthday! I love reading your blog. Your recipes are great and I have "stolen" a few. I tried the Cookies and Cream Cupcakes and they were a hit. People are asking me to make them all the time! That being said, I would love the cupcake package. I have been looking for a cupcake holder and can not find them anywhere here.

Congrats on being Cupcakes Take the Cake!

Happy Birthday! I love reading your site because you have amazing food ideas, great recipes, but mostly, I come for the sarcasm that oozes through every entry. So many people refuse to show that part of them and I love that you're just keepin' it real. Especially with the stories about your extended family and your kids! Makes me feel right at home. Humor, great stories, and food. You can't beat that combination!

Hmm, as much as I love cupcakes, my shitlist is getting really long and I need somewhere to write it down. I am a bitter, bitter human. (So it could be argued that what I really need is MORE CUPCAKES.)

I hope your birthday is awesome and everyone else turns out to give a crap after all. Maybe we should have JustJenn Day on the internet.

I'd go for the sh*t list because I have a lot of people to put on there right now AND I have a mild obsession with collecting buttons.

Delurking for your birthday! - Happy Birthday!! I have been visiting your site for quite a while now. I love your take of life I guess; you do it all - job, kids, blog, etc. and still bake! Freaking amazing!! I hope one day when I have kids that I will be able to do it all to. As far as bacon is concerned, I think the Foo Fighters Rider says it best "Bacon. I call it "God's currency"."

p.s. Thanks for all the great recipe ideas!

Happy Birthday, Jenn! I too have a birthday no one observes (dang close to Christmas date!), so I feel your pain. Hope you do something fabulous to celebrate.

Bacon, it really is the best. Salty, crispy, porky. What more can you want? I'm sure Alton Brown has a reason why it goes well with everything that he'd demonstrate with a sock puppet and packing peanuts.

I'm partial to the stationery, but would never turn down any gift. I love to bake, but I'm on an extended road trip and all my pans and mixers are in storage right now.

Happy Birthday, and good luck with the shower!

Okay, I'm forced to de-lurk. The lure of cupcake and/or swearing-related items is too great. :) My birthday is Saturday and I wish I had as good an outlook as you do. I check out your blog because you're a fellow "Office" fan, I love cupcakes and you make me laugh. Hope you have a great birthday!

I'm a total lurker for your recipes, ideas, and personal stories about your family and outings in LA. Your greatness amazes me!! Thanks to you, I now have a greater interest in baking and entertaining--not to mention the great Rick Astley. I'm actually about to go and make 'burger bites' for a bbq tonight!
I could definitely use the assortment of cupcake fun!!
Good luck w/the shower and happy happy birthday girl!

I came for the robots and stay for the recipes. It's also inspiring that you're able to work in architecture (great time suck that it is), still bake like a mofo, raise a family, find time to put out your own line of design and update a blog. Daily.

Hell, I'm worn out just from typing all of that! Inspiring, I tells ya.

Plus, I like cupcakes and bombes.

Package A

Hi! My name is Jen (I'm a one "n"-er, like Jen from Quarter Life). My purpose for visiting this site is to giggle. A lot. Also, to look at cupcakes and drool on my keyboard.

Bacon tastes better on everything because the saltiness enhances the flavor and it's hard to make cupcakes crunchy unless you slap a piece of fried bacon on top.

Nothing more to say here. Go back to reading the other comments. I doubt that I'll win. You can tell I'm an optimist.

Another one delurking here. And yet another Jen at that! I stumbled across your blog while searching for pirate birthday ideas and have been hooked since. I so enjoy your smart writing style. I also enjoy the insider's view of California...I live in the midwest and have only been to CA once...and that was as a tourist in San Francisco.

My husband and I recently had a conversation about why bacon is so delicious. (I then had to share the bacon dog story...never heard of them before.) The funny thing is I always feel guilty after eating it.

I would select the cupcake option. I have such a sweet tooth, yet terrible luck when baking cupcakes. It's so unfortunate but at least we get to support our local bakery!

Thanks and happy birthday!!

I come here because your sarcastic humor is hysterical. I also love to salivate over your scrumptious treats.

Hmm, why do I come? Habit? Really, though, I find nothing goes better with frozen waffles than a nice side of sarcasm. And, you have two kids and a job and bake yummy things, so on days when I feel overwhelmed and undermotivated, you are a good kick in the ass.

I clicked over from the Slackmistress one day, and thought that your blog was very witty and creative. I love your mixture of clever and snark; that's what keeps me coming back.

I want both packages. But if you're making me choose, I want... BOTH! Ha! See if you can make me pick, go on, just see!
