Soul food

Look. Let's have a talk. We're all on hard times right now, but it doesn't mean you have to be a dick about it. I believe that if you send out good vibes, good things will come back to you. It's not a zen thing or a religious thing, it's just...a positivity thing. Some people are haters or just plain old mean, but I think it comes back to you in the end.

So I thought I'd try to spread a little happiness. I boxed up a few sweets and sent them out into the world. Some to people who have been very supportive of me and some to people that I barely know at all. Hopefully it will make people happy and inspire them to spread the happiness to others.

I also made up this card to go with the boxes:
(inside:)

It's about "Feeding Your Soul", like Pay it Forward but minus Kaiser Sosay. It's worth a shot. I know could use a little more happiness in my life, and sending some out to others feels pretty good.

How much would you charge for a package of 6 or 8 of those cards?

Seriously. Love. Will buy.

Thanks for that post, what a great message. I love the card too. By the way, I have been ready your blog for a couple of months now and I linked to it from my (fairly new) blog.

We barely know each other at all...where's my cookies? Haha. Seriously, I love the card and the positivity thing is true. I think a big majority of the issues right now are the result of attitude and perspective more than anything else.

*sending good vibes your way*

Lovely idea! Sometimes I feel like a super-whimsical hippie when I do things like that but I like to anyway! I am really getting into The Toy Society and also making little random arts in my office building hallways and stairwells. I hope people see them and brighten up! (not like graffiti or anything, I mostly tape up cute things and stamped images on pretty papers.)

Now that I stop to think about it, I've been doing this some too and it makes a big difference in attitudes, etc, mine included. I gave a co-worker an item that literally cost 33 cents, but it made her so happy. She accidentally broke it, so I got another one. She was so appreciative and this is someone I've really butt heads with in the past. I've been kinder to her in general lately and guess what? It's coming back to me, which is a nice feeling.

Thank you for sharing this message. : )

So, you mean, like come from a place of yes, like not from a place of no.

I am so ashamed I watch that crap!

These cards are awesome! I hope they're up on your website.

Paying it forward in these times is such an awesome attitude because so many people need it. The fact that you bless people when you don't have to and in the direst of times, that's just awesome.

I hope you don't get creeped out by me saying this, but I heart you so much! Your blog is one of the less-than-handful I still read after all these years, and you never ever fail to be hilarious. I expect no less than a big fat windfall of good karma to come and sweep you off your feet someday, hopefully soon.

I completely agree...everyone has a story - even if you aren't aware of it....I paid it forward the other day by paying for the coffee of the guy behind me in line at the drive thru....
