Young Justice + GIVEAWAY!
Superheroes are big in our house. We read comics, draw comics, watch comics and even...eat comics.Young Justice is on the Cartoon Network and is a fave show of the Baby's. Anything with Batman in it is an automatic favorite, really. Based on characters by DC Comics, Young Justice follows young superheroes: Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy and Miss Martian as they work together to not only fight crime, but figure out life under their Justice League Mentors. Yep, old skool JL members Batman, Aquaman, Flash and Green Arrow make appearances in the show and watch over their protégés.
When I first saw the show I wondered how the Baby would relate because the characters were in their teens and quite frankly, VERY teen-like. You know - a little whiny, a little emo and a whole lot of attitude.
By the second season I think the characters were really flushed out and came into their own. With the addition of new team members there was more drama, more fight and more fun.
The Baby loved Young Justice almost instantly. The characters diverse personalities, scenes of constant action and color - is everything a young boy could want out of a superhero show.
His favorite character is Robin, I'm guessing because of his closeness with Batman and also because he is a leader. My fave character is Kid Flash because his humor lightens the show and he's reminiscent of the Flash character from Batman: The Brave and the Bold - Season One, Part One
I think kids love the fact that with all the angst of school and friendships, the 'young version of our favorite superheroes are much more relatable in everyday life.
Thanks to Warner Bros now you can experience Young Justice too! I'm giving away one copy of Young Justice on dvd - just leave a comment on this post from now until Wednesday October 26th. I think you'll really love this series!
Here's how you can tell a show is popular in our house...
...you watch Batman while you are dressed as Batman. Apparently it really completes the viewing experience.Young Justice: Season One V.1
Young Justice: Season One V. 2
**full disclosure: Warner Brothers provided me with a copy of Young Justice: Season One V. 2

Labels: batman, dvd, superheroes, the Baby, wb, young justice

Both my guys *love* this show! Lots of hours lost in deep debate over the storylines :-)
I have somehow never heard of this show, but since Sam spends about 90% of his time dressed as Batman we obviously need to watch it.
I've been a fan of Greg Weisman ever since he created Gargoyles and I'm glad he's having success with this show now. LOVE Robin's costume here too.
My daughter loves Young Justice, her favorite character is Miss Martian. Gosh this is so cool.
we have fans of justice league in our house. so this would be an awesome addition.
I jumped on the Young Justice bandwagon just days after it originally showed (watched it on YouTube ^_^) and have been hooked ever since. Getting a dvd of it would be awesome!
As many folks are stating their fav characters, I'd say mine is a toss up between Robin and Aqualad. I love the fusion of Dick and Tim into this version of Robin and do wonder if we'll see anything of Nightwing in this show in the future.
Aqualad in the show actually got me to reading Aquaman comics as before I brushed him off as being 'less entertaining' than the other JL members, but as stated seeing 'lad gave me some new respect for the fish-guys in DC and with the New 52 I even had a good place to start
Haven't checked this out yet, but would be a great way to start!!
This is my 8 year old son's favorite show! The great thing about it is that the story lines are so well written that I'm entertained as well. So much better than trying to sit through an episode of Pokemon - Yawn!
I actually have been watching this show. I really like it. It's nice to see them handle these kids with a good mix of good and bad when it comes to their actions.
I've been really curious about this show.
You're seriously giving away a copy of Young Justice on DVD? Yes, please! Young Justice has quickly become my favorite animated show to ever be released from the DC Universe. Which says a lot because I didn't think they'd ever make a show I loved more than Justice League Unlimited or Teen Titans.
The characters were very well thought out and there's someone for everyone to relate to in some way. The team has the perfect mixture of heroes ranging from characters with powers and without, there's a good mixture of seriousness and humor, and the story is just very well written.
I've yet to miss an episode and would love to own the show on DVD.
I'd love to have this for my house. My kids (okay, and I) love superheroes!
My son loves anything superhero. This would be a nice treat.
I've been hearing more and more about this show lately...seems like I really need to check it out.
I'm a huge fan of that show! I hope I win :)
I have a superman/green lantern tattoo and my daughter loves looking at. When watching ypung justice she always asks to see the tattoo when superboy appears.
