Disney's Grand Floridian

Last week I went to Food Blog Forum in Orlando and stayed at Disney's premiere deluxe hotel the Grand Floridian! I've always wanted to stay there and it was worth the wait, this resort was the height of luxury!

The resort views are gorgeous and you really feel like you are living in splendor. Service is amazing as you would expect from a Disney resort but the Grand Floridian does even better to go above and beyond.
The lobby is positively grand with a band and pianist playing throughout the day and of course, themed outfits for all the cast members. I can't wait to come back at Christmas when they fill the lobby with the lifesize Disney gingerbread house!

The rooms are themed old Victorian but look closely, you can find magical touches of fairy dust everywhere. The nightly turn down service is something I've come to expect from Disneyland Hotels but apparently they only offer it in Disneyworld at the deluxe resorts, so I was happy to see our favorite animals from home enjoying their nightly chocolates.
The resort has two pools, a small water play area and a larger pool where nightly movies are show on a blow up screen.

The best thing about the Grand Floridian, was the easy access to the parks. There's Disney bus service but it can be painfully slow throughout all the resorts. Luckily there is a dock for boat service to the Magic Kingdom which came in handy for a nightly escape from the crowds. The waterfront also provided a perfect viewing area for nightly fireworks.
My favorite part of the hotel was the in house lobby monorail stop. It's a definite bonus to be able to travel to and from the parks so much faster and easier.

Another plus of the Disney resorts is the 24 hour quick serves that allow you to get food at your leisure. The best buy of the vacation was the refillable drink mug. Once purchase and ALL your drinks are free on resort property for the entirety of your stay! So much money was saved that way and I also got in a nice nightly, hot chocolate.

Disney and the Grand Floridian made trip truly magical! I will miss the amazing service, comfort and convenience from Disney's flagship resort hotel. Now to plan a return trip...
